Finish Grade Excavating Landscaping & Property Maintenance

Just finished building a new home and living 4 hours away I did not know of any local landscape contractors so I took a chance on google reviews and found Finish Grade Excavating Landscaping & Property Maintenance. Unlike the other two contractors I contacted that never bothered to respond, Jarek replied to my voice message promptly and they came out to the property just 2 days later. I wasn’t sure how to finish the final landscaping as there was this annoying slope leading to the front door and another one in the back. I imagined having to build a retaining wall or two with a few stairs in place to get to the front and back doors. Eddie took one look and before you knew it he was scouting out the whole lot. He came back with a plan that used the existing fill on the lot and spreading it out to flatten the front yard and soften the slope in the back which also redirected water away from the house. Eddie then took a shovel and dug up test samples of dirt from various sections of the lot. Having located topsoil he declared that they would be able to scrape enough topsoil from the lot itself and that the parade of dump trucks with dirt that I had envisioned would not be required. In fact only gravel trucks were required for the driveway. Jarek, Ed and I then spent a further half hour walking the lot and when the plan was finalized I felt great relief as they envisioned what needed to be done, how it would be done and described perfectly what the end result would look like.

They made the whole landscaping thing seem too easy and took a lot of pressure off me. I received a quote the following day and we agreed upon a date for the job. The equipment arrived the afternoon before and the following morning, right on time I was awoken to the sound of heavy equipment. These guys would not accept lunch or snacks but were happy to have coffee and tea served up. There was no leaning on a shovel, no driving off for lunch, they have a hard work ethic and they did not dither. By the end of the second day they had completed all tasks and to top it all off Jarek towed a section of metal fencing behind a lawn tractor to break up the topsoil clumps. The only thing I had to do was add grass seed!

When you deal with finish grade excavating they will exceed all expectations. Jarek and Ed are highly intelligent and I'm sure they could tackle any job. They waterproofed our basement and I am extremely happy with the quality of work and professionalism they provided. The neighborhood was curious as to who was doing the work because they did such a good job. Choose Finish Grade for any project. You'll be glad you did!
