Kat Tail Cottages

We ended up at this beautiful cottage resort by accident. We had a booking mix up with another location and were at the side of the road with our kids and all our stuff. Kat tail saved us.

The owners were actually taking the week for vacation with their family and friends at the resort. When they took our call and found out we were stuck like that, they didn't even hesitate to let us have a cottage. Not only that, because of covid, they spent 3 hours cleaning the cottage from 6-9PM, to accommodate.

The cottage was cozy and decently furnished. Bit of fixing up to do on the finish, but decent and it's camping... We had a huge deck with nice patio set and the lot was big. Nice bbq and appliances in the kitchen. The property is very well maintained and roomy in general. They have a couple docks down on the Trent that can be fished from. I only caught a couple little ones, but you can see and hear the big ones jumping.

The shoreline doesn't feature a sandy beach, but there is a lovely one, Quarry Bay beach, about 30 mins away. We went several days in a row and had a great time. Kids didn't mind the ride at all. Actually the route features plenty of little hills my daughter loved, as she got the rollercoaster feeling...

The prices are unbelievable, compared to what we paid at the spot we went the following week. Even though it had the beach immediately in front of our cottage, after Kat tails, we couldn't see comparable value. The Kat tail rental itself was less than half the cost. We bought $10 worth of wood at Kat tails, had 3 fires, and brought the rest with us for the following week.

Brad and Sandra are awesome people giving good value on great service. At the risk of making my next booking more difficult, I highly recommend this cottage resort to anyone who isn't straight glamping, although it's pretty close!

Hidden gem that I do not regret stubbling over by pure luck! Owners are super friendly and helpfull, cottages are clean and well maintained. Love it!

Wonderful resort, very clean and cozy. The cottages have everything you need, including dressers and extra hooks in the bedrooms, and sufficient towel racks in the bathroom. They also provide you with drinking water, which is an extra bonus. There is no beach, but we still went for a swim from the dock. The owners are very friendly and accommodating. Overall, we had a great weekend there, and will come again for sure!

Excellent Cottage location with great fishing spots and a wonderful, quiet place to relax. Cottages are clean and the owners are friendly. Highly recommend staying here!
