Riding instructor is friendly, knowledgeable and has reasonable prices. Lots of well-kept horses, and great onsite facilities. I am able to consider this a "safe space".
My daughter attended this academy for years and it was a life-changing experience. The business owner and coach, Stephanie, was amazing with the kids, and knows everything there is to know about horses. She teaches her students not just how to ride, but how to safely handle horses and care for them. She was extremely diligent when it came to safety, and provided a real hands-on experience for the students. Stephanie is both down-to-earth and professional in her training. Students develop confidence, learn responsibility, and make life-long friendships. We traveled across the city once a week because of the quality and affordability of the lessons compared to locations closer to our home, and it was always worth the drive. I recommend The Army Horse Academy enthusiastically and wholeheartedly.
Very welcome owner and wonderful school horses. You will learn a lot all while being safe and having a lot of fun :).
I was a nervous rider but I really appreciated the way Stephanie understood and worked with me at a pace I was comfortable with while also encouraging me to improve and get better. Stephanie also strongly values safety which I really appreciated. There was a large focus on actually understanding the horses which is unlike other barns I have experienced.
I gained so much confidence here and wouldn’t go anywhere else.
Not only does she know horses as a trainer but she is a great coach. She builds confidence and natural horsemanship. Without her, myself and my daughter would not have got the foundation fundamentals we needed nor would I have the well trained and well behaved horses I have now. I'm blessed to know her.
