Fast trip across the river. Price should be lower than $12 in my opinion. Glad they accept debut and credit cards though.
I have made the trip using the ferry in Cumberland infrequently, to visit Montebello and Mont Tremblant. On the return home I try to follow the signs along autoroute50 for the traversier but I keep missing the exit because it is incorrectly displayed. The sign says take exit 164 but the actual exit is 166. If you miss the 166 exit, you will end up with a very long return to the east end of Ottawa that will take you downtown first.
The ferry from Cumberland to Buckingham is a godsend to travellers in the east end of the City. The ferry service is fast, and they run multiple ferries during busy times which make a wait, if any, only a couple of minutes max and that's really just due to loading. The current rate for a passenger vehicle has gone up to $12 after many years at $10, but its worth the time & gas saved from having to travel to the closest bridge in centretown Ottawa or out to Hawkesbury then back. Ferry staff are friendly and the Bourbonnais family has a well operated business.
Very fair and reasonable way to commute to the other end from Ottawa to Gatineau in 4 minutes.liked the service and you can even board the fairy as an individual to pass through for $2 dollars.the staff are excellent and polite.experience is all that matters with a beautiful view of the river and landscape.
For 10 Canadian Dollars one way, it's quite cheap to get across. The ferry crossing is very fast and frequent too. It only takes a few minutes to get across to other bank.
The ferries are quite large and accommodates many vehicles at once. The ferry seems to be driven very professionally too.
