Alternacare

We were required to find 24 hours per day/7 days per week care for my father at his retirement residence on a very short notice. Anne was very compassionate and efficient, quickly arranging for personal care workers to supervise my father. For the most part we did not observe the team in action. However, from those we observed, most engaged my father in conversation and ensured that he was well taken care of. There were a few team members who were learning English and/or had strong accents, so it was difficult for my father to understand what they were saying, especially with his dementia. They were very kind and made a strong effort to engage him in conversation. I was most impressed on two specific instances. One was when a team member was unable to attend one of the sessions. Without worry to us, a replacement was found. On a second instance, while packing up my father's room to move him to a long term care facility, a team member helped with packing boxes. I would have given 5 stars, but some of the team members did not make as great an effort to engage my father in conversation as others. The cost was very high, but it was comparable to other companies and Alternacare could provide full day and night supervision. I would recommend them.

I have been proud to work for Alternacare since 2019. It's been an incredibly rewarding experience so far and I've enjoyed it very much. It's given me the opportunity to make a meaningful and long-lasting impact in the lives of others. It's also exposed me to a wide range of people coming from various walks of life, ultimately broadening my world views. If you're interested in healthcare it's an excellent way of gaining clinical experience as you'll get to see the inner-workings of various healthcare institutions. The hours are flexible and if you run into any issues you can call or email the staff and they respond very quickly to resolve any problems you have. Overall my experience has been overwhelmingly positive and every day I go work I feel a strong sense of excitement and privilege.

The staff are absolutely top notch. It's very clear they're passionate about their work, and that they care deeply for their fellow staff and their clients. In addition to being very accommodating to your needs, they're all very polite and professional. During my years with this company, every single interaction I've had with the staff has been positive. They hold their core values of compassion, integrity, dignity and independence very close to their heart. Special shoutout to Anne Cote and John Roger, both of whom have made my time with Alternacare amazing! It's a great company to work for and I highly recommend it to everyone.

I had the privilege of working for alternacare. It was a wonderful experience, everyone was so friendly and responded to any questions I had very quickly. They were always eager to help and made me feel valued as a team member. I look forward to working for them again in the future and would deffinitly recomend them as an employer.

I would like to thank the entire alternacare team, in this context I can only gain from the company everything I have learned and from the organization that everyone has with their customers and as everyone deals with the workers, I hope to continue and I attach more to everyone, thank you very much.

I am a student at Western University and currently I am completing my internship with Alternacare Inc. From the moment that I first met with the team I saw the commitment and passion they had for their employees as well as clients. I have enjoyed getting to learn about the organization and working with the team to make positive change. I have learned so much and hope to keep learning and growing from the experience that I have gained.
