Wonderful selection of ‘First Nation’ gifts and exceptional attentive service
Such great folks who run the gallery, and amazing art / sculptures / decor on display. Quite happy with the piece we picked up.
If you are looking to buy authentic Canadian crafts, and gifts, then this is the place to go. One of my favourite shops in Ottawa. They sell everything from First Nations and Inuit items to non Indigenous products as well. Compared to other souvenir/gift shops around Ottawa, this store does a very good job of carrying local and national products.
Nothing is imported. Well, to my knowledge I’ve never seen anything they sell labelled as made in China etc. Some items are expensive, but overall this is a good store, and has something for everyone. They have a wide selection of items, from moccasins, to traditional Inuit and First Nations carvings, Pangnirtung hats, little ornaments, traditional jewellery, smoked salmon and maple syrup, plus much more.
The staff are friendly and helpful and I’ve bought numerous items from The Snow Goose over for myself and friends and family over the years.
One down side though is that I don’t believe they have any Aboriginal employees. It’s a bit disappointing, but oh well. This is why I’m giving it 4.5 stars out of 5. Thanks! 🇨🇦🍁
A beautiful shop parallel to a museum visit. Bonus is the friendly and professional service. The owner took the time to find me something within my budget allowing me to but a beautiful Inuit piece. Highly recommended.
A beautiful shop specializing in Indigenous art, jewelry, and Knick-knacks, we found the staff to be friendly, excited to show off their wares, and knowledgeable. Their crafts emphasize authentic craftsmanship and nothing here feels tacky or cheap. The shop is pretty and filled with interesting objects. The prices were good.
