Chelochi Grill Ottawa

We recently shared a generous triple kebab platter - wow! Came with soup and salad. Really excellent! Interesting flavors, beautiful presentation, the side of rices (2 kinds) was perfectly cooked and unique, not like your typical basmati or jasmine rice. All 3 types of kebabs - generous, tender, flavourful. We'll be back!

We just happened to pass by this gem while visiting a business next door. We decided to check out and entered, to be greeted by the sweetest lady. As soon as we sat down, we were offered hot soup and then the menu. We shared couple of items. On the way back home we could not stop talking about it, how good it was. The rice, the kebab, eggplant starter and the icecream that we brought home, since we were so full, just from the shared starter and main. The chef at this place knows what he is doing, awesome 👍

I really enjoyed the meal here. This was my first experience with Persian cuisine (as Google maps indicates) The people are very friendly and the young lady at the register was very eager to talk about the way the food is spiced and prepared. We had a very pleasant discussion about the use and cultural importance of saffron. Knowing this, it made the experience very enjoyable and gave a new dimension to the meal. And the food was excellent, beyond expectations!

We had a dine-in experience & we loved the food. The interaction with the lady was very pleasant & enjoyable (she explained about different starters/food before ordering which was very helpful)

We loves the food including the portion was more than enough for us despite the reviews. Maybe dine-in portions are different than take-out, not sure!

Why 4 stars, I wish they had bigger space for families for dine-in & also we didn’t like the Persian ice cream as it was slushy than creamy.

Also the location was very far for us but I’m happy that they offer delivery with certain amount of food order.

We’ll be definitely recommend the place & go back to have an Authentic Persian Food & hoping the quality doesn’t go down as it seems to be an issue with many restaurants these days, they starts great & gradually decreasing the quality.

Chelochi is a very cute and cozy restaurant with great service. Delicious food is served in large portions at a reasonable price. It’s not only tasty but noticeably fresh. I strongly recommend it.
If you haven’t tried Persian food, Chelochi is a great place to start. For fellow Iranians, the food tastes like home!
