Kanata Recreation Complex

Had a spectacular afternoon, highlighted by a public skate. I didn't catch the lovely lady's name, she let us on the ice for free with my little buddy Baylaa, birthday girl.

Nice multi pad facility with easy viewing of each pad. Main rink much bigger and not a cold.

Ice is great at this rink! While waiting for the flood to be finished the pusher was out chopping ice alone the boards. They take pride in the ice here! I would say the best ice in Kanata for sure!

One of the main hockey rinks I used growing up. Since it's owned and operated by the city, they have done a good job of updating it over the years, basically looks less like a hockey rink now. Has two ice pads, I've always liked the one on the left better for some reason. Also, lately, they have been giving covid shots here upstairs. Lots of bonus areas, such as a kitchen/cafe, and full locker rooms (not just the hockey ones). Also, it has lots of parking since it's part of a large park.

Nice rinks. A-side rink is good for spectators. B-side rink is fine to play or practice on, but is not very good for spectators. The B-side has very little seating and has bars that interfere with what can be seen...it can also get pretty cold. The A-side is not bad for sightlines, space, and warmth.
