We had some soffit and siding damage - not major but 28' in the air and needing a quality fix to ensure all the pieces were re-fastened the right way to maintain watertightness. Justin Stevenson responded promptly, came same day (at dusk, with lights to get it done), did a quality job fixing it with attention to detail and safety.
He wasn't cheap but he was good value: I'm sure some guy with a long ladder and hammer could have McGyvered it for less. And I'm equally sure a bigger company could have made a 1/2 day job of it with a crew of two, and charged more. His fee was fair for experienced person, with insurance, and a truck full of equipment and a range of small replacement parts to get it done on the spot quickly, once and for all.

When we discovered insulation damage due to condensation in our attic Justin Stevenson (Stevenson Home Repairs) provided a professional and thorough assessment of the damage and the most concise recommended resolution. It is difficult to find a company that does attic ventilation repairs and remediation so was blessed to come across Justin’s business. He was dependable, delivering on every aspect of his very detailed quote. We are extremely pleased with his work and rest easy knowing our attic ventilation issues have been permanently resolved.

Came back home after being out of town on the Easter long weekend and found that a line of shingles, about 10 feet long, had blown off my roof during the crazy winds of a few days prior, leaving a section of the roof exposed to the plywood. That night I was awakened by the sound of water dripping onto the attic hatch.

In the morning I called Stevensons Home Repair on a referral of a neighbour down the street who had nothing but great things to say about them. It was raining (and snowing) that day so I opted to use their emergency service where they (Justin) came within an hour of my call and he installed some shingles (in the rain) to immediately stop the water from entering my attic. He explained that this was done in an emergency manner and that tomorrow, since there was nothing but sun and mild temperatures in the forecast, he would come back to remove this temporary fix and install new shingles in a much better manner and under better weather conditions.

Before leaving, he even went into my attic to assess the damage (no damage in my case since he was able to stop the water infiltration quickly enough) and to see where the water had settled. He removed the small amount of insulation that was soaked from the little puddle of water that had pooled on one area of my vapour barrier and told me to check the spot in a few days and it should be completely dry.

The next day, he came back, as promised, to redo the repair in a more permanent manner. He even took pictures to show me how a previous repair (done by another roofer that I had called last summer) in the same area was not done properly and he redid it and took pictures to show me the difference. While he was up there, Justin took the time to have a look at the rest of my roof which, from the distance of the street, seemed fine to me but up close he saw some lifted nails and other subtle issues which would lead to problems in the future so he proactively (and easily, at this point) rectified them on the spot.

I have come to see that Stevensons Home Repair is very experienced and qualified for any roof work and, just as importantly, they are very proud of the top-quality, honest work that they do. Not only do they NOT cut corners, but they also go that extra mile to ensure that their work exceeds the level of work performed by others in the industry. Stevensons Home Repair re-shingled my roof over my screened in porch and kitchen eating area. Justin fixed what turned out to be an air-flow problem in a cathedral ceiling with large skylights. The skylights were removed, the framing redone and expanded to include better venting and more insulation. Ice guard and shingles were put on the roof. The room is warmer now, the condensation/dripping problem is gone, and the ice damming has been reduced by 80% (the remaining 20% is just the normal result of freezing and thawing on a roof valley of a south facing roof). Justin seems to enjoy the problem solving aspect of roof and insulation repair, and he likes to get it right.
