I've lived in this building on two separate occasions, about 6 years apart. Both units were in Building 1435, and I really enjoyed the building and the area. I lived there with my two large breed dogs. The first time was in a bachelor alcove unit, and the second time was a two bedroom apartment.
I could walk my dogs safely in the neighbourhoods surrounding the building, and there is a trail along the water at the back of the building which is really nice too. It's walking distance to Carleton University, public transit, the beach, fast food restaurants, Shoppers Drug Mart, etc, and is very central for biking. There is a lot of green space close by with Mooney's Bay, Hogs Back Park, Arboretum, Experimental Farm, just to name a few!
I never had issues with cleanliness, and the management was always really friendly and helpful. Jhada always went out of her way to ensure I was in a comfortable unit, close to the ground floor (as per my request, for my dogs). The superintendent even offered to help me install a Window AC!
I didn't find the noise between units too bad at all. I've lived in a few apartment buildings over the years, and I've had way worse in terms of sound carrying over. I always kept my unit tidy and clean, and treated it like my own little home in the middle of the city. I've met many people in the building who are still friends of mine to this day. I think an apartment can be as basic as you let it be, but I chose to decorate and make it feel like a home. I'm so surprised by all the low star ratings based on my experiences. Give this place a chance!
