Radon Works

Rob is very professional and knowledgeable. He is not only installing the system, but also checking around to locate the sources of leaks. His workmanship is excellent too. We are very happy about his work.

I originally reached out to Rob a few years before actually mitigating our radon in our basement. We were modest by standards, but had averaged around 170 bq/m3 (above WHO and USA, but below 200 bq/m3 health canada guidelines) on a mail in test we left for about 6 months. I spent a good 20-30 minutes asking him questions on the phone about everything radon related and he answered all of them professionally, no pressure, no cutting me short.

A year or two later after finishing our basement (spray foam placed on walls), I suspect the better seal of the home increased our radon numbers to closer to 300 bq/m3 on average (I bought an Airthings device for monitoring). As I was now spending more time in the basement, I felt it was time to deal with it and called Rob again to install a system.

System went in very quickly, and has been running smoothly ever since install about 2 yrs ago. Every home is different (ours was built in 2009) but we were fortunate to see our numbers drop from 300s down to under 10 bq/m3 (sustained for 2 years now, all times of the year). We hired Radon Works to do our radon remediation. Rob Mahoney is very knowlegable on this subject and takes the time to clearly explain the process. He installed the system in less than 3 hours. The following week, testing showed a very acceptable reading of just 10, down from 291 in the original test. Rob did a great job and I have no hesitation in recommending his services.
