DELICIOUS pizzas 😍 The honey on the Queen Elizabeth pizza had the right amount of sweetness & paired so well with the goat cheese. The kimchi pizza was not too spicy and the flavour was perfect 👌🏼 I would highly recommend either! The staff were so sweet to bring my order out to my car (I had a baby in the backseat). Unfortunately I didn’t check my order before I left and they forgot my chilli garlic dipping sauce (which I have heard raving reviews about so was really excited to try). Honestly the pizza was so good that I can’t even take off a star for that. Can’t wait to go back, and now I have an excuse so I can try the dipping sauce ☺️
Lovely helpful friendly young woman at counter, the quickest pizza in the south (under ten minutes) She happily agreed to sub-in fresh basil for the pickled onions.
We ordered a bacon cheese pizza to share for a light lunch. It was described as coming with honey drizzle. What the heck, figured it was worth a try. I asked what the “local cheese” was I was told cheese curds.
The pizza wasn’t terrible. But, honestly, the cheese was rubbery rather than stretchy and the predominant taste was honey. I had to look hard for the basil. There was the tiniest amount of finely chopped basil. Maybe one or two leaves worth. Not enough to taste. The bacon, likewise, was discovered as tiny (1mm ?) size bits sparsely sprinkled over the surface. If I hadn’t known they were supposed to be there I couldn’t have identified them from look or flavour.
The crust was good, light, a little bit chewy, though slightly underdone in the centre. I would have honestly guessed it had a touch of sugar and of baking soda to augment the yeast but I could totally be wrong about this.
I am left feeling a bit perplexed by the good reviews but for $20 I was expecting more than a round of dough with honey and tomato sauce. I wanted to taste the basil and the smoked bacon too!!
I could see using the tiniest touch of honey here and there for a bit of a different taste experience but this didn’t work for me.
It wouldn’t take much for them to up their game. Being more generous with toppings would go a long way towards improving things.
Pizza Nerds is some of the best pizza in town! Wood fire thin-crust with some many unique and creative options. I particularly like the Queen Elizabeth.
If you are ordering to eat at home, I woukd recommend picking it up your self and arriving a few minutes before the pie comes out, because although it's still delicious if it's delivered, it's even better when it's completely fresh!
First time pizza nerd! Wow! Not sure if it's wood fired pizza bit it sure tastes like it is. Absolutely delicious.
So glad it's open! Our pizzas were both excellent.
