Love it,
The Karst is actually a whole area, it's not just the cave. If you go into the forest up on top, there are two interesting sinkholes. We have guided tours every year in the fall with the Carleton University Geoheritage Day event, check the Cardinal Creek Community Association website for dates. It's an Ontario provincial ANSI (Area of Natural and Scientific Interest).
Nice trail in East Orléans.
The path is bicycle and stroller friendly as long as you don't stray from the walking path. There is on road parking near Watters st.
You can stray into the forest and closer to the stream in some places.
Was not very busy when we went. Scenery was nice, would be extra pretty in fall. We had very few bugs in midday.
Great place to snowshoe in winter.
Please pick up after your pet. We saw lots of feces in some areas. It might be wild animals but it was pretty doubtful.
Nice place to go for a morning jog. Sadly there’s no entrance to the karst so I’m unsure why there’s just an information area explaining the karst but you’re not allowed to actually see it. Anyway, follow my directions: at the entrance there are two giant rocks and the information podium. Directly to the right of the podium there is a “secret” trail, under the trees. You’ll see the ground is beaten down and it leads you to the dried up river area under the bridge. No hobos, not too much trash. Nice for picture taking.
A really nice path to take a walk on, dogs enjoy it too. The large creek leads up to a sewage drain, so take caution if you have younger kids. (Luckily there's fences, but just in case!) You probably shouldn't go in the creek though, because it is (from my experiences) very scummy and muddy, and has LOTS and LOTS of mosquitoes. Otherwise, no criticism. I have however heard rumours that there's an ax murderer who lives in the farm down the road there >:)
