Having had to cancel two planned larger weddings during COVID, my wife and I decided we would forge forward with a small ceremony with only our closest friends (and even that was hard).

While we were selecting a photographer for our “larger” event, we had scared off at least one with my technical questions as I do have a bit of photography training from Art School but we landed with Paul based on his portfolio. Sometimes a portfolio doesn't tell the entire story..

Paul was not scared off however and was very welcome to it. After having to reschedule our date, Paul was very willing and accommodating to our change of plan and was eagerly able to pivot his/our plans from a large wedding to a group of 6 at a small rented church air bnb.

His work speaks for itself, very moody ,candid, balanced and colourful in his use of composition. We are very happy with the results to say the least.

What made Paul stand out to me were a few points that made him stick out….

His passion is clear and rather than composed pictures his best work is the candid. I truly adore his work capturing not just images but the mood and tenure of the event. Not a lot of staged photos but rather beautiful candid work. These are the ones that will be with me forever (though we did a few staged ones as well)

On the morning of our wedding, at the venue, I awoke and was up somewhat late (we had been imbibing the night prior) and saw someone on the property “snooping around”. I quickly got my jacket and shoes on and quickly realized it was Paul who had arrived early and was scoping out locations for shooting. Rather than wake us up he decided to use his extra time to find three unique spots to shoot outdoors which would to most look rather ordinary but turned out spectacular. He also gracefully made his exit when the time was just right.

Professionalism is something for which I’ve heard horror stories from friends with their photographer (not getting delivered in a timely manner, not meeting expectations or not even delivered, etc). Paul was on time and clear with his deliverables and turned around our photos in less than a couple weeks including a preview slideshow that was lovely. He also went above and beyond for a friend of mine who suffered through the above but no need to go into too much detail there.

Upon reflecting on having Paul at our very very small ceremony, it was his warmth that also came through. A unique laugh, a personality that blended right in with our friends and most importantly to me, I never felt I had a “photographer” there but he sure got some great shots and MOST of them I didn't even realize he was taking.

To conclude, I realized that the technicals don’t matter(Medium format, ASP-C, Lense, Composition, ETC), to the experience of having someone like Paul at your event. Pick your person wisely but I would highly recommend Paul. I’m glad he wasn’t scared off by us or my friends as it truly felt he was one of us when he was doing his photography and it was a joy to have him apart of our day.

I won’t try and put into words how incredible Paul’s work is, you can take a look for yourself to see how beautiful. His vibrance of life and contagious laughter truly bleed into his work and I could not have picked a better person to take pictures of my loved ones and I at our wedding. Paul has a personality that extends to all people and corners of any room and is probably why we hired him. Not only is Paul a bloody amazing person but we consider him to be our friend. PAUL IS THE BEST!

Paul is an unbelievable photographer, he photographed my brothers wedding and I fell in love with his photos! But, unfortunately COVID took away our opportunity to get married in 2020. Paul provided us with reassurance and help when it was needed. I appreciate all he has done and would recommend him to everyone!

We hired Paul for our wedding and we could not be happier. The photographs were beautiful, and it captured so many candid photos of us, our family and friends. We had 65 guests and he did a really good job of capturing ever single person, on multiple occasions. We did a first look with Paul before the ceremony, and it made a world of difference to work with him. He made us feel at ease and calmed our pre-ceremony jitters. Communication both before and after the wedding has been excellent. All in all, his work is amazing and he has such a great personality to work with. We would highly recommend him.

Paul is so incredibly talented, kind, and fun to be around. We’ve had the pleasure of working with him a few times now and just recently had him photograph our wedding. We are absolutely in love with our pictures! He somehow captures every moment with the most amazing lighting. We’ve had so many friends and family comment on how amazing the pictures are and how much they loved having Paul there. He was like part of the family. He is an absolute dream to work with and we will always recommend him! Thanks Paul!
