My dawg's favorite park.
1st time visiting.Supper nice park. Came with picnic lunch.kids had fun in splash pad and all the play structures. We will be back.
Quiet clean park with new tennis courts
Really nice playground but for some reason the washrooms and change room wasn't open during a time when they were supposed to be.
Summer: wading pool with life guards during summer break, tennis court, jogging path, swings, play structure, sand pits, and a *lots* of room to run around. When school is out for Summer break the city has facilitators for crafts and activities there on Thursday AM (may change dates/times - check the Ottawa web site.) And, a lovely shady area to sit when the sun gets too much. Dates for special activities (Mad Hatter Tea Party, Halloween in July, etc.) may be posted from time to time on the brick wall of the changing facility.
Winter: sledding hill, hockey rink & separate skating rink
Right in between Holy Family and Bayview PS elementary schools (so it gets busy at 3:00 when school lets out.)
Drawbacks: no water fountains - you're going to get thirsty, so bring water. No close stores - bring snacks. Lots of folks walking dogs (which we find to be a bonus - friendly dog owners will let the kids pat the dogs) but occasionally one may be off leash, or just seem intimidating to the wee ones. Changing building with bathrooms is open sort of randomly. Also, no place to hide from rain.
So pack up the kids, and snacks, and spend the day.
