I recently heard that the Bagel Shop was making gluten free bagels.
I've been a gluten shunner for about 15 years and I while can say that there has been much improvement in what is available in the line of breads, cakes and crackers – there hasn't been an edible bagel in my life for a very long time.
I used to live around the corner from the bagel shop and I remember enjoying their bagels which are very reminiscent of the bagels I had while is was living in Montreal.
So with great trepidation I went in and bought a half dozen. They aren't cheap – $2.60 each – with no reduction if you buy a dozen as there is when you buy their regular bagels.
These bagels are simply magnificent. They have a chewy texture, brown inside, smoky and delicious. They are substantial – I can cut them into three piece if I want to toast them.
Congratulations to the Bagel Shop on their new product. I'm sure that there was a lot of testing before they found the right ingredients.
While I'm not celiac – if there is any trace of gluten I have a major problem. I wolfed down my half-dozen bagels without any reaction at all.
The best Salmon Lox bagel in town. It is always fresh, very generous amount of salmon and amazing bagels. The place is a little outdated but I guess it is its charm.
They make excellent, Montreal style bagels have a great selection of cheese and deli meats. Best is the Mennonite ham. There are also jams and spreads and on Sunday, the Sunday New York Times. And they have an excellent wearing area.
Great selection of brunch, fast service. Food was great. Pay up front before you receive your food and drink, which is nice since you can just leave when done. Lots of seating.
This is nice local shop which is baking bagels and sale other type of groceries. It is relatively small shop with small eatery. Personal are friendly, eatery could be not always clean with specific menu options. Shop from other hand always looks better and fresh bagels bring desire result with this location. Price for grocery not always friendly however, they are acceptable. Always visit this store when at this area.
