“I recently heard that the Bagel Shop was making gluten free bagels. I've been a gluten shunner for about 15 years and I while can say that there has been much improvement in what is available in the line of breads, cakes and crackers – there hasn't been an edible bagel in my life for a very long time. I used to live around the corner from the bagel shop and I remember enjoying their bagels which are very reminiscent of the bagels I had while is was living in Montreal. So with great trepidation I went in and bought a half dozen. They aren't cheap – $2.60 each – with no reduction if you buy a dozen as there is when you buy their regular bagels. These bagels are simply magnificent. They have a chewy texture, brown inside, smoky and delicious. They are substantial – I can cut them into three piece if I want to toast them. Congratulations to the Bagel Shop on their new product. I'm sure that there was a lot of testing before they found the right ingredients. While I'm not celiac – if there is any trace of gluten I have a major problem. I wolfed down my half-dozen bagels without any reaction at all.”

“Just love this spot. Great vibe. Great daily menu - always new and on foodie-trend. Beer lover? Local supporting? Up for a great wine? This is the spot for you...but make sure to book a reservation! This place is popular...the secret was out a long time ago. Feeling fancy or just want to wear a great pair of jeans...all good. Servers will be seen in hip attire, sporting a cool vest or even a vintage graphic tee. This place has character and charm. Can't say enough. Love it here. A true gem in Ottawa.”

“Absolutely loved this restaurant. It may be small but utterly charming and homey, the sushi was seriously the best we have ever had & we've eaten sushi all across Canada. It was beautifully presented and the waitress was wonderful and attentive. People who are complaining about the price are most likely comparing it to all you can eat places: no matter the quantity you cannot compare the quality. I will definitely come back and bring our friends!!!”

“I've eaten here several times over the years and regardless of how the menu changes or how I'm feeling in terms of what I'm in the mood for, I can always find something to satisfy and amazingly the consistency and quality of the food is remarkable. It's always a safe bet for a very good or great meal (and I'm a fussy one -so I don't say that lightly!) They also have some outdoor seating in the warmer weather which is super nice (they are on the north side of the street so they get sun until late!)”
