Academy Pro-Style Martial Arts

Had my sons birthday and had an amazing time. Would reccomend it!

I just wanted to let you know how much I enjoy coming to Pro-Style Martial Arts in Kanata. You and your team at the gym are great. I do not enjoy working out alone, and the group exercise sessions that I go to have kept me motivated to come back for as many lunch hours as I can. In fact, I plan my work day around the lunch time sessions. As a bonus, the classes are fun and the instructors do a great job to push you. Master John and Tracy keep the exercise routines fresh and challenging.
I find the classes push you to your very limits, and then make you to go one step further. I love how Master John makes the effort every class to give you comments on your form along with motivational words with the kind personal touch you would expect from a personal training session.
Coming to this gym for the first time a year ago was a little intimidating and it was tough to get through the entire work out sessions, however the more I went the stronger I became and the more I really enjoyed the classes. That feeling of intimidation or uncertainty that often comes when joining a group workout, was quickly replaced with a feeling of belonging and family. From the first class, I have never felt more challenged or have had as much fun!

I have been doing the evening kickboxing classes for the last two months now. It is an amazing workout. I love how different the classes are every time. I sweat hard, work hard and the results have been amazing. John is a great instructor. He keeps you motivated to keep going when you feel like you've reached your limits. He is also quick to stop and show you how to do a move correctly if you aren't doing it properly. I highly recommend Pro-style if you are looking to add to your workout regime or just starting out, this is a great choice and an amazing facility. No judgment, just plain fun!

Best birthday party experience ever! My daughter decided she wanted her party there and Master John and Sensei Jacob did not disappoint at all. All of her friends were immersed in varying physical activities and had a fantastic time. Many want their party there (incl my daughter's next one!!!!!) Her favourite part was to cut her cake with a genuine samurai sword. Master John involved the parents coming to pick up their kids in a kids vs. parents dodgeball and even immersed the parents in a musical workout. Duomo arigato Master John for everything.

Master John is wise, humble and a master of Karate by all meanings of the word master. He's a well reputed fighter, however, what he teaches well extends beyond fighting, ultimately, it's about becoming a stronger and better person. I grew up taking Karate with him as a child and I would recommend Pro-Style Martial Arts to anyone who values building positive character traits such as courage, discipline, humility, dedication and compassion over simply being able to beat someone up or punch through a cinder block. At Pro-Style, for over 20 years it's been about character, that's what the motto swears by, that's what it will always be about.
