Jane is one of the few teachers who can teach to a wide variation in the the level of the student's proficiency, ambition, and style of learning. I had four kids learn with her. They received pretty good marks (80+) for their early Royal Conservatory of Music (RCM) exams. After that, a couple of them wanted to learn complex and more contemporary music of their own choosing. Jane worked with them to accomplish their goals. One of my kids was only interested in piano recreationally, so she worked with him at his level of ambition.
Her student recitals were evenly packed with the tiniest kids in their first years of piano to many accomplished pianists studying and playing at RCM Grade 8+. And she had lots of kids playing who eschewed RCM music and went with contemporary music of their own choosing, including duets with other instruments.
And she continued with my kids for many years as they evolved their musical learning, preferences, and ambitions. We had tried other teachers before Jane, but those teachers didn't adapt to the wide variety of proficiency, learning style, and ambition in my kids, and we had to discontinue and restart with other teachers. Until Jane.
