Amazing school with amazing teachers.
Very well established school with processes aimed at advancing the students' capabilities in each lesson. Teachers are very professional. I recommend this school to anyone seeking to get their second language levels in the Federal Government.
I have been a teacher at FFF since August 2008, and the school's academic director since 2016, so take my comments for what they are worth. I won't try to sell you on the school, but simply state how we function, which in my opinion, puts us at the top of the heap of language schools in the Ottawa area.
We are constantly trying to improve ourselves and adapting our program so that it not only serves our clients needs (federal public servants, but also children), but that it remains entertaining and practical. We emphasize a more communicative approach that encourages our students, no matter what age or level, to speak as much as possible rather than writing grammar exercise after grammar exercise. Our program is in constant evolution, in that we are always creating new activities and manuals that will serve our clients' needs. It is through trial and error that we have realized what works and what doesn't.
We also accept any student who wants to learn French, no matter what their disability or learning difficulties. Our program is easily adapted to any student. All we ask is that everyone gives their maximum effort and stays open to having a good time while studying with us!
We provide our students with workshops that focus on various parts of the oral exam and share tips to help our students go from level B to level C, which is a goal many other schools have struggled to understand. In order to adapt ourselves to the reality of the Public Service Commission exams, we have invited a bi-annual basis, since 2013, various administrators from the PSC testing centre to speak to our teachers and students so that we are always kept abreast of any changes that may occur with the second language evaluations, and so we can all better understand the objectives and criteria established by the Treasury Board.
Finally, if under any circumstances students are unhappy or disappointed with their experience at FFF, we strongly encourage them to speak to either myself or the admin team so that we can do our best to make everything more comfortable, and we then take this feedback to make improvements to our program, our classrooms, and our activities.
Overall, the school is very well equipped to handle anyone's learning needs!
FFF is truly in a class of its own for French language training in the National Capital Region, particularly for those preparing for the Public Service Commission exams! Their comprehensive and consistent pedagogy focuses on the learner, adapting to various styles, but still continuously providing the base, structures, strategies, and concepts necessary for success. I have been to many French school in the area, and have never seen a place with such fantastic teachers, such a thorough approach, and such a pathway that leads to success!
Teachers were very helpful. I appreciated the patience and time in helping me polish up my French language. Highly recommend FFF!
