Had a really nice lunch there today with a great view. The service was a little slow or maybe they just weren't in sync with our timing. Other than that it was an awesome experience. The elk burger was totally the way to go and each of the beers we tried were amazing. They also make their own own gin and I tryed a shot on the rocks. Very impressed.
Beautiful old mill situated minutes from downtown, this pub is not 'rib of the mill'...they offer their own beer as well as many other favourites on tap.
The food choices are standard pub fare with a bit of an upscale feel.
The winter visit I had was cozy and charming even on a busy Thursday night.
Will definitely return in summer to appreciate the outdoor spaces and the view of the water on which the old mill sits.
Like this place, most of their have nice and light flavor profiles. The place itself is quite nice too, they have entertainment sometimes. Their patio has an awesome view of the river. Menu is quite nice. Service is great!
I've had up and down experiences at this eatery. The setting is spectacular, in a building that overhangs the old lumber chutes on the Ottawa River. Many years ago it was a relatively high end restaurant called The Mill. Today it is a popular spot with its own micro brewery. The food is pretty standard fare with the odd exotic touch like the Elk Burger. Taste is ok, service can be slow when it's busy and because of the acoustics, out is very noisy. Out is good for groups, with lots of space.
I've never had a bad experience here. The location is beautiful if you can get a seat on the edge of the river. The food is solid and the beer selection okay. It's a great spot after work - and it can be hard to get a table during lunch and happy hour so plan ahead if that's when you plan to visit. It's great that it has parking but it can be full during peak hours also.
