NCC trail and park, very small, good for beginners looking to visit some NCC parks but are not sure. There's a lookout over a pond of Stony Swamp. Plenty of markers on trees, and if you bring seed, birds will fly to your hand and eat out of it. Not far from the bird sanctuary on Moodie. Free parking and easy to walk through. Great weekend coffee walk.
Great trail especially to take young kids on because it isn't too long with a nice lookout over a pond and there are usually plenty of chickadees and chipmunks to feed. Over the years we have seen a variety of birds, ducks, frogs and tadpoles. Also on the rare occasion we have been treated with the sighting of a porcupine, 2 large turtles and a small water snake who caught a little minnow and ate it on log while we watched.
Great trail to walk around and take pictures of birds animals and reptiles. Smaller trail but lots of birds and wildlife in the heart of bells corners. You can expect to see black Capped chickadees, white and red Breasted nuthatches, Downy hairy and Pileated woodpeckers to name a few. You
Can also see white tailed deer, wild turkeys and a vast array of reptiles like snakes and frogs. The centre of the trail has a dock with a railing that allows you to walk out over part of the water. Certain times if the year Mallard ducks and Canada geese can be seen from here. Also had a vast array of squirrels including red and grey and of course chipmunks. Great trail to bring kids to to teach them about nature. There is a gravel plowed parking area. I would recommend this trail.
Lovely shaded forest trail that is level and smooth for people who use wheelchairs and walkers. You can do up to 1km or shorter loops. There is an accessible wooden walkway over the water where you can always find ducks. Also an accessible toilet near the car park.
This is a very small network of trails that takes perhaps fifteen minutes to explore. But it has a nice overlook. And it's close to the other Stony Swamp trails. Also it has an outhouse just past the parking lot which is convenient.
