Great place to worship, and hear gospel preaching.

Pastor Lipsy served as pastor of our church in NJ for may years, including my formative years as a young christian. His family and the witness they were of what a real personal relationship with God looks like and its implications on the workings of and relationships within that family were huge in winning my heart over to the Gospel. His plain teaching from the word of God without shying away from getting very practical on the daily life implications of the text at hand shaped me as a christian, and his expertise as a Christian counselor helped disciple me as a man of God, husband, and father.

Visiting for his daughter's wedding afforded us the excuse of visiting his new congregation in Burgessville. We were not prepared to see how big a HRC church can be. We are a small denomination with mostly small churches, but not here. If big churches aren't your thing, give them a visit anyhow, because my brief impression is that they still very much have all the benefits you would hope for in a small church. HRC is a great denomination when it comes to not letting one's vision for church growth cloud judgement in the direction of becoming overly programatic, less personal, and generally running the church like a business. The people there we got to meet were very warm friendly, and eager to show hospitality.
