(July 21, 2018, 10:52 pm)The house is actually cool. Have to come back here when there aren't any events so I can a real guided tour. Everyone was really nice. Look for events here. And when youre in the house... Play the piano. Just do it. ????

Benares Historic House is considered by some to be the inspiration for Canadian author Mazo de la Roche's (1879-1961) famous series of Whiteoaks of Jalna novels. The author spent the summers of 1924-1928 as the neighbour of Benares Historic House in the nearby Trail Cottage, a small home she built on land purchased from the Harris family.
