Islandview Cottages

We had an amazing time here! A beautiful view, the cottage was perfect, with a big deck as well as picnic area, fire pit and dock right on the doorstop! The owners are friendly, the scenery is spectacular and it was an amazing time had by all. Highly recommend this for an authentic cottage experience on magical Stoney Lake!

Great cottages! There is a private dock for each cottage and everything you need is available. Jennifer and Craig were very nice and helpful.

There is a restaurant just a 10 minute walk away with the best chicken wings and great cocktails!

Beautiful Place, amazing experience ❤

The view from the 3 bedroom cottage was lovely. Fairly quiet. There were kids staying across the lake but that didn't bother us. Jennifer was very helpful and quick to respond to all questions. Lots of wildlife - a family of ducks, a loon, turtles, birds to watch. I have to be honest with this review - I was not expecting the snake that appeared on the dock on our last day. It must have been a water snake because it slithered off the deck and through the lilypads. The Paddleboat was decent but the canoe was old, unstable, and once was enough. The water was disappointing - reedy, fully of algae/greenery, and smelly at times. The sandy beach was maybe two feet. We had to find a nice beach to go for a swim.

Inside the cottage was fairly clean, however the screens were full of bugs and there were spiders in the main living area. No AC, the weather was pleasant, two fans were provided, but we still brought a fan of our own. We were mostly 4 adults, at times 6, and the cottage is small, it needs renovations. The mattresses are lumpy, the 3rd bedroom was dubbed a closet, the sofas felt like they were 50 years old, and the bathroom shower was very dark. Two bedrooms were nicely painted. All dishes are kept out in the open, so even though they were washed, some flies ended up on the plates and we had to rewash. Granted we were outdoors a lot, but indoor comfort counts too, especially when there are rainy afternoons and you want to spend time together in the evening. There is no lighting on the steps coming down to the cottage, nor the steps going down to the dock. The dock could use some staining in order to spruce it up. Owners live next door, have boats, it would have been nice if they had offered us a tour. It would also have been helpful to know the marina phone numbers beforehand and rent a boat for a week or a few days. I contacted 3 marinas and they were fully booked. Oh and the BBQ grill was rusty on the inside - thankfully I had brought foil to cover the grill.

Overall we had a pleasant stay.
