Terwin Aussies

I have had the pleasure of providing homes for four dogs of Terry Browne from Terwin Aussies over the past 13 years. My first was a rescued Chocolate Lab named Hershey. Seized by a local vet clinic in 2007, Terry was asked to provide a temporary home for Hershey while she lost some extra pounds in order to receive ligament surgery for her overburdened knees.

At the time, I was struggling with my first Aussie (from another breeder) that was experiencing separation anxiety. Terry assessed Hershey, then around 4 years old, and determined she would be an excellent companion to my 18 month old boy, Indiana and a soothing presence for me. She couldn’t have been more right. Hershey joined our household in late 2007 following her surgery and became an instant member of the family. Hershey Girl was an excellent fit to my home and brought me much comfort and joy over our years together. When she passed in 2014, her loss was felt by all of us including Indy who moped around the house in the days that followed.

Not yet ready to take on a puppy, we entertained the idea of welcoming older dogs to our home. This coincided well with the growth of Terry’s breeding program. As breeding dogs age, some need loving homes to retire to. As a result, we’ve been lucky enough to provide homes for two such dogs. Gracie and Ruckus have been excellent additions to our home. While they have still been semi-active in Terry’s breeding program during their time with us, Terry has been able to depend on us to ensure their availability to her when required while knowing they enjoy comfort and love in their senior years. While adult dogs may not bring the puppyhood experience, Terry’s adults integrate into alternate households quite seamlessly without the time and effort required of a puppy.

In 2018, Terry offered us the opportunity to raise up a Terwin puppy who will become part of her next generation of Terwin breeding. Tilly is a true reflection of Terry’s quality breeding - sweet temperament, smart, joyful, healthy and full of energy.

All four Terwin dogs adopted into our home have become important members of our family. Terry’s assessment and placement of these dogs is well thought out and always done to ensure the utmost well-being of her dogs. We’ve felt privileged that she has entrusted her dogs to our care. I would not hesitate to do so again in the future.

It is my pleasure to write a reference as a Terwin dog owner. We loved our first so much we got a second from Terry and if that’s not a recommendation I don’t know what is!

Terry is always there for any questions and has the knowledge to give you the right answers. She is honest and is a person of integrity. Her breeding program has purpose as evidenced by the quality of her dogs and especially by their wonderful temperaments.

I truly recommend Terwin Aussies to anyone looking to add an awesome Aussie to their home.

I filled out a questionnaire in hopes of finding an Australian Shepherd breeder that was a good fit for my family. Shortly after I submitted the form, Terry called and explained her process. Terry definitely stood out, in the best way; it was refreshing to receive a call instead of an e-mail like other breeders. What I found most interesting was that Terry wanted to meet us in order to see if we were right for her puppies while all the other breeders I had contacted required a $200+ deposit up front.

My family and I made our way out to see Terry & her puppies. She sat us down and we discussed the reason for us wanting an Aussie as well as what being an "Aussie owner" implied. We discussed their raw diet, vaccination schedule and training amongst other things. She had us interact with the puppies and then asked if we would like to see some adults to get an idea of what to expect. Terry let in some of her beautiful dogs; one in particular was drawn my mother - this ultimately led to us coming back to get the adult dog a few weeks before our puppy.

Our experience with Terry has been second to none. We have owned many dogs from various breeders but none can compare to the education and support Terwin Aussies provides. Terry made it clear from the beginning that if we had any questions or concerns we could contact her at any time. She is a wonderful breeder that will tell you like it is. No nonsense. No beating around the bush. She is honest and sincere. At the end of the day she is in the breeding business for the dogs. Terry cares wholeheartedly about the wellbeing of her pups even after they've gone to their forever homes.

It took some time before I found Terry, but I am so thankful I did. Our family ended up with two magnificent dogs that come with a lifetime of support from Terwin Aussies. Our girls are smart, well-tempered and absolutely gorgeous. If you choose Terwin for you Aussie needs, you won't be disappointed!
