Our family had an amazing time at this park. Very clean and well kept. Keep up the great work
Good spot to launch a kayak, try the creek that runs through the park for a calm paddle, but be prepared for some waves and wind when you get out into Little Lake
Great all-in park not too far away from GTA. This place has everything from picnic area, volleyball courts, small & clean beach, playgrounds, boating/kayaking/jet skiing, camp ground & a soccer field & the must-see "Locklifts".
The main parking area is not small but not big enough for what this park offers & may get full in nice weather. But there are some other parking places nearby/aroud the park so it should not be a problem finding parking.
There is plenty of green with shades & benches & bbq is also allowed making it a great picnic spot. There is a small each strip along with a playground & a very nice excercise area which has some unique structures, good fot both kids & adults. Near this area is a good size washroom building with 5-6 stalls each for men/women + there is also a fairly large changs room. The washrooms were clean with no smell at all which was surprising for a Sunday.
To top it off, follow the 5 minute walk trail on the right side of the beach and you will reach a small wooden bridge. Wait here for 10-15 minutes until a ship/boat wants to go through and see how they change the water levels and open the bridges for it to pass through (see video). Tip: Ask the attendents for the ship schedule so you can come back when they are about to start.
Overall, a very nice park which should be on the summer visit list for locals or tourists.
Great park and beach. We only spent the day near the campground but the other side has another playground and a spray park for a hot summer day. Will definitely be going again.
It is a lovely campground and look forward to going again this summer 2020. Great for cycling on trails or around the lake. The locks are interesting with boats from Canada and the USA. Lock boat tour available which is beautiful in the Fall. Swimming off the beach and a great play ground for children, supervised by their parents. Herons are regular visitors to the river surrounding the campsite. Have a good summer. Our photo did not show up!
