Northview Gardens~Outdoor Wedding Venue

Beautiful grounds for any wedding or special event. Rose and David truly have put so much love into making sure no detail is over looked.

When you're going to spend anywhere from a couple of months to a couple of years planning a wedding, you want to make sure you find a venue with owners/managers that are knowledgeable, organized, responsive, and easy to work with. As soon as we met Rose and David at our first viewing of Northview Gardens, we knew: this was the place we wanted to get married, and these were the people who would help us make sure the day ran smoothly. We promptly booked our date for August 31, 2019.

Over the year and a half of wedding planning, Rose and David never missed a beat. Every time we contacted them, we would receive a helpful response very quickly. They made themselves available for questions, viewings, and even a tasting by a related vendor. And speaking of vendors, these two know everyone in Peterborough! We found our caterer through Rose and David - and this excellent caterer has no website and no location because she operates solely by word of mouth. We never would have found her without Rose and David - and she was fantastic too.

David is really laid back, but is a practical thinker and will make sure nothing is missed. Rose has an artistic eye and knows her gardens inside and out. She has many beautiful decorations and is happy to help you adorn the venue with your finery based on collaboration and feedback.

But let's be fair and look at some potential cons here. This is not an all-inclusive package. You will have to do your research and organize the different parts of your wedding yourself. Catering, DJ, flowers, decorations, photography - none of these vendors are included in your package, so you'll have to pick and choose what you want. For us, that worked perfectly because we saw many venues that came with a caterer we didn't want. We weren't stuck with anything we didn't want, but at the same time we had more work to do ourselves. We would make the same trade-off again.

Many people cite the washrooms as a negative point against Northview Gardens, but as of May 2019, they now have fully functioning permanent washrooms instead of the porta-potties they had previously. These washrooms aren't super fancy, but they include working toilets and sinks, and the bride's washroom is large enough to hold a whole bridal party. I think this was a necessary upgrade, and Rose and David recognized that and made it happen.

And the venue itself... I mean, do we even have to say anything? You've seen the photos. The gardens are meticulously maintained, the ceremony area is just adorable, and the whole venue has a beautiful, rustic quality. And best of all, your entire wedding takes place at one location. You don't have to drive from the wedding ceremony to the reception hall. You can just waltz on over from one part of the premises to the other - and hey, maybe grab an hors d'oeuvre along the way.

We can't say enough wonderful things about Northview Gardens. Rose and David, thank you for everything you did to make our wedding day so special.

A hidden gem. When you drive by, you just see the sign, but behind the house there is a beautiful property and gardens and a gorgeous indoor venue and everything you need(including great organizers who own the place) to run a smooth and beautiful wedding. 135 people seated very comfortably for dinner. check out their website.

rose and her family made the wedding an absolute dream. When you pay for the venue, as a bonus you get her experience and knowledge free. Every step of the planing process was a dream, and when going for a final kinda run down, she will 100% remind you of things that slipped your mind that seem small but make a huge difference in the enjoyment of your guests. On top of it all rose rose has connections with many other businesses so you can get a clearer picture of what you will be getting if you chose those other businesses.

The venue itself was incredible. So many little touches with signs and flowers. So many picture perfect places for photographers to get that perfect shot. And so much space for guests to mingle and enjoy the selves.
