Building a log home was a life long dream. It took a long time to find the perfect lot - lots of land, a spring fed lake, and surrounded by crown land. All the while we frequently attended the Cottage Show, Home Show and did several factory tours of many log builders. In the end it was a very easy decision to go with Confederation Log Homes. Our sales rep, Brad Stuart, was very knowledgeable and answered our many questions as we refined our design to ensure we got exactly the cottage of our dreams.
Andy Kinsman, VP of Operations, ensured all our logs/beams and building materials got delivered when the builder needed it, and Andy also helped us with getting additional info for the permit approvals as/when the inspectors requested. We absolutely love our Confederation Log Home. Confederation is the dream team for building log cottages/homes!

Our experience working with Rich Cameron and the Confederation team was most enjoyable and stress free. The knowledge and suggestions shared with us helped us through the entire project from design and planning to the actual build. We never felt that we were pressured or rushed into our project at any time. We have been living in our new log home for 6 months now and are loving it more and more everyday. Thanks Rich and Confederation employees.
We approached Confederation as one of several options when looking to design and build our home - and we are so glad that we did. We quickly determined that they lived up to their incredible reputation.
Throughout the process, Confederation made the design process so much easier and less stressful than we had originally anticipated. Figuring out what you want your future home to look and function like can be a daunting task - but Brad took the challenge in stride. Not to mention when we arrived at the final design, it was an instant, unanimous "that's the one!".
We chose to complete the build ourselves, so when it came time for material deliveries to start, Confederation made sure that we had all of the necessary resources to prepare and educate us in the log home building process, and did everything to make to make sure deliveries were staged and scheduled appropriately.
If you are considering building a log home, I would highly recommend visiting Confederation -- their hospitality, professionalism and quality is second to none!
I am currently in the design stage with Confederation Homes and my experience has been a really positive one. The sales rep (Paul Clark) I am dealing with is very responsive and always willing to take the time to walk through any changes or questions I have. I had looked at many different places before choosing Confederation Homes but what really sold me is when we went to Bobcaygeon and seen the model homes they have there and they took us through the facility and showed us every step that would be taken into building our home. They are very pleasant to work with and I am looking forward to seeing my final plans and then moving onto the build.
For several years my husband and I have researched & investigated log home kits. Hands down we made the right choice with Confederation Log Homes. Where 2020 was a low year for most, it was an absolute high for us in that we moved into our log home on December 3, 2020. Although the weather has prevented some of the exterior finishing (stain) on the home, the interior is our dream come true. The folks at Confederation were very patient with us and our multitude of design changes and worked within our budget. The end result exceeded our expectations. Our life in our new home is truly a dream come true.
