This is a magical place. I found a sense of community as well as ways to release years of built up anger. Different tools to cope with my trauma and fun activities in between. The staff is there for you 24/7 and they are all so calm and understanding. The cook is absolutely amazing too!

I remember this place! Went October, 2014. It wasn't bad. Met some Ladies there. Met some dudes. In fact I went there with a couple guys that were part of my first phase therapy group from the gatehouse. Anyhow I mean it was coool. The house is nice. the bedrooms werent too shabby. 2 beds to a room...so you know sleeping in the same bedroom with a complete stranger for the duration of the stayover... but they leave out awesome candies in the living room area. Andrea and Nancy met us on arrival.. I think the other Lady Angie? she showed up at some point.. we had I think it was one chef but could have been a couple that showed up during the visit. so like Delicious EATS! YUM. Plus activities outside of the not so intense therapy wasnt bad. Did some canoeing or like those one person boats.. that was nice. the water wasnt too cold and it was friggin october! I mean I do not have the best recollection but in response to the other reviewer on here who said 'unprofessional' I didnt find that the case.. I mean I am not sure what you are comparing it to.. but I do recall being in group one session .. and telling my story or part of it.. and then lying down with hittting cushions...it wasnt bad. I mean at the time I sorta phased out.. when I came to I had a bunch of people around me haha. which ended up with one of em getting me a teddy bear. so I dont know what really went down. but the food? was pretty good. plus one dude brought some hazelnut cofffeee.. and again the ever present candies.. licorice mmmm... tasty. We also did a relaxing drum session..Native/spiritual roots.. I found it overall pretty goood especially while working through some of those tough issues. Also we did this "portable" climbing wall .. you know with stones you'd pull yourself up and step on to reach da top? kinda neat. I found the facilitators (Nancy, Andrea, There was a dude too forget his name) were really good! Angie if that was her name she paid all da bills and sorta hung in the background short cropped hair .. she was pretty cool too. plus they had a cat.. who didnt like to play with any toys. I mean if yer going to share personal details regarding tuff life experiences? these guys were the ones to lay it all out at their feet and you know get it off your back.. I dug it. I mean maybe if yer flying solo and didnt know anyone? it might have been an unusual experience.. Going thru the Gatehouse was a goood first step..

    The staff was amazing.
We ate really well and the Cook was very accommodating.
The exercises were unique and exciting.
The group of girls I was with were like family.
I am currently trying to get on the waiting list to attend again.
It was nice to disconnect from the media and spend time in nature with kind individuals.
Also I don't recall why but we had piglets visit and that was so fun!

The most transformative experience of my life. We did yoga, journaling, group, high ropes courses, silent nature walks, had a healing fire, ate great food and so much more. Out of normal, a male leader was there during our girls stay and he restored my faith in men. I was a very adimate "man hater" before attending and I have since developed healthy relationships with men. I had a great period of time to reflect on myself and learn new things about myself. I would go back 100 times over.
