Really great spot for an outdoor show. Not too big and lots of room for vendors in a cool area with a super chill vibe. My only complaint is traffic flow when leaving the venue - parking was a bit goony.
The Arkells were fire though!
Did the night watch a couple of weeks ago and it was a great adventure. There are still a few things that need to be finished but it was still terrific.
You get a lantern and go to ~ art installations, the lantern activates each installation. It really takes advantage of the atmosphere of the site and creative art. Loved getting to see the site at night and do interactive things. Loved the bar stop near the runway.
Great to have something so sophisticated in little Picton. Will be going back in the fall!
I came to Night Watch with a group of friends & thought it was truly incredible! It’s an extremely fun, completely sensory & thought-provoking experience. I love that uses existing structures at Base 31. I was truly blown away & plan to come back again!
We came here for the night light walk. It was amazing and I’m so glad we did this even though initially it didn’t seem like there were a lot of people. It was beautifully done and such a great way to spend an hour. Staff were extremely helpful along the way. The only reason for the 4 stars is that a few of the exhibits were missing parts or out of service and so we didn’t feel it was justified paying full price. (40 bucks per person). It would have been nice for them to give some sort of discount given not everything was working properly or up and running. I would recommend this and would come back to check it out if I was in the area again.
We had family visiting from Scotland who were interested in learning more about the history of Base 31. We stopped in at the Visitor Centre and spoke with a few staff members regarding a tour. It turned out that they were planning to launch a professional tour package in a few weeks but said we could assist with a "preview tour" to provide input. They followed up and booked us for a "test tour" that included interesting recorded interviews with past residents we listened to as we walked from building to building. Overall, the experience was entertaining and 5 stars! The staff at Base 31 were awesome. Highly recommend this as part of your travels to PEC or as locals who want to learn more. This was a highlight of our guests stay. Look forward to seeing the final tour format - great job!
