The Lakeside Motel

Incredible cute, clean, and spacious rooms. Staff was super nice & helpful with recommendations. Great location - close to wellington hub (restaurants, millennium trail). And had an amazing patio on the lakefront!

Very beautiful and super welcoming staff. I only went for a couple of drink with family but the rooms looked absolutely stunning. I would really like to visit during the summer next year.

I recently spent a few nights at The Lakeside Motel and this was one of the best experiences I have ever had at a hotel ever!! I love that it is dog friendly because I love bringing my dog with me. All of the staff we encountered were amazing, friendly, welcoming, and very professional. I would highly recommend! They have regular modern, clean, spacious, and clean motel rooms, and glamping tents too! The best feature is the gorgeous deck overlooking the lake where you can relax any time of day. It’s just a short drive from Sandbanks park. I’ll definitely be returning again.

Great little revamped motel & outdoor patio in the heart of Wellington. Adorable spot with fantastic view of Lake Ontario...and I mean FANTASTIC. Stay at the motel or in one of their 'glamping tents', or for a small fee spend the day at their pool and receive food & beverage service. Alternately, you can stop by the outdoor patio for a delicious meal and aforementioned incredible view. Patio even has recessed campfire pits for evening dining around your own personal campfire. There's also a volleyball net and ping pong table. I can't express how impressed I am with this little gem! So many really unique ideas blended together beautifully in one of the most picturesque settings in the county. And the food was great too!! Stop in asap, because I have a feeling this place will be booked solid next year.

We stayed in the Wharf house. It was clean, safe, spacious and family friendly - we hope to visit again in the future.

The patio is stunning. View and vibe are great, and contrary to what others have mentioned in the reviews I’m seeing, the staff were very polite and accommodating and drinks and food were decent. The owner was present for the entire duration of our 3-day stay- she was friendly, accommodating and we noticed she’d been slaving away at all operational levels to keep everyone happy. She personally tried to accommodate our group of 4 for a patio dinner (without renovations being made prior) even though they were extremely busy.

We only had 2 criticisms that gave this place 4-stars.

1) the patio lacked vegetarian options. We found that most other restaurants accommodated for both vegetarian and vegans, but the Lakeside patio does not.

2) the swimming pool hours are not very accommodating. We were there for 3 days and unfortunately weren’t able to use the pool (or other amenities) as the hours were 10-6. That was a little frustrating given the price we paid to stay here. As a visitor who would prefer to spend our daytime touring the county for food, wine and other attractions- so we would have loved to come back to our motel and taken advantage of our amenities with an evening (or morning) swim. Perhaps the pool could be open to the public from 10-6, but offer longer hours to the actual guests- would have been ideal.
