  Absolutely love this place. It's homey, the ambiance is calming and the staff welcoming. My husband and I come here once a week to have their pho tai (p12) soup, we get it with egg noodle instead of rice noodle - too good and highly recommended. ????

  The Pho Metro in Whitby opened recently and friends recommended it. We went last night and honestly were not impressed. It was a different style where you write your own order on the slip on the table when you arrive. 1 menu booklet per table. Shortly after someone came over and asked if we were ready to order, we put our order in and my husbands pad Thai came quickly. I waited patiently and later they came over and were confused why I didn’t have my order yet. Somehow my order got lost although it was on the same paper as my husband’s. After hubby was done his meal, they brought mine out and then the cold vegetable rolls, which we thought we would receive first. They were just newly opened, so the confusion may be attributed to ‘growing pains’. My chicken vermicelli was adequate. The chicken was tasty but there wasn’t too much. Vermicelli and the salad with cucumber strips and bean sprouts was very plain, as with the vegetable rolls. Even the dip for the rolls didn’t have much flavour. They said they don’t use peanuts in their cooking at that location but I think they offer them on the side? Overall experience was just average , and I will continue to try other Vietnamese restaurants.

  The people who run this place are Vietnamese, so that there already tells you it's authentic Vietnamese food. The food is yummy. Their sauce for the rice and vermicelli is how it should taste. Balanced. Not too sweet, not too sour, with just the right level of saltiness. It's the go to place in Durham.

Pho Metro started in Scarborough and has done really well over the last few years and have added franchises in Markham and Ajax. Unfortunately I would have to say that this is the weakest of the 3 locations.
