TOTAL ERROR=So sorry this was posted with 1 star. I did not know it was there until a few minutes ago.
We have really missed your store and staff since the fire. We are hoping you are open again very soon. We know you’re working very hard trying to get everything done to open again. For a small store, your merchandise selection is great and the meat(beef + pork) is amazing. I’m unable to comment personally as I’m allergic but husband enjoys the poultry! You’re the only place in town with Kawartha Dairy milk & ice cream. Many thanks for being in Cannington!

Good store with a wide variety of products. The staff are always great and it is a really convenient location too!

Friendly staff and a good selection for a small town. Never had a problem and I've been coming to the store periodically for 15 years.

*** I've used this store since the initial review, and things have improved in terms of having staples like milk in stock. The store still leaves much to be desired, but the experience here has improved and I wanted to update the review accordingly.

As a business owner I dislike leaving negative reviews, I hope this feedback reaches the owner or management so the situation can improve and I can change my opinion.

This store is doing a very poor job of ensuring the "staples" are in stock. Its easy to overlook that they don't stock items such as seafood, certain types of cheese, or spices, and I understand that the size of the store prevents them from offering the variety you'd find at most other stores... I'm even okay paying 15% above what I'd pay elsewhere, but tonight (a normal Tuesday in February), they were sold out of regular chicken breasts... Over the past few weeks they had no lettuce, no green apples, no green onions. Over the holidays they were sold out of MILK.... Not 2% or 1%... ALL MILK was sold out!

Most of the young staff are very friendly, and I understand that there may be difficulties or limitations operating a small town grocery store, but I do expect to purchase fruit or chicken mid-week. I used to live in a secluded mountain town in Alberta that never had these issues, so I know it can be done.

I want to support local small town businesses, but naturally become inclined to pick up groceries elsewhere when buying the staples like milk and chicken becomes a crapshoot.

Small store loaded with goodies. Friendly staff and good selection. Great fresh bread too.
