The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints

Religion is a very personal thing so I won't bother trying to sway anyone in any direction. The people that I have met from this church are absolutely top notch. Totally non-judgmental. Very willing to help the community in whatever way they can regardless of denomination. Truly doing Gods work.

I went to this church in Bowmanville, with a kind and compassionate person who regularly attends this church, for a Christmas party. It was great! 5 stars for this very nice person and the lovely people they introduced me to. Then I went to this church’s website and read its founder was 37 when he married a 14 year old girl and other men’s wives. This church’s website also said it’s a “commandment,” a must do, that people who regularly attend this church “give one-tenth of their income to the Lord through [this] Church.” And that this money is “always used for the Lord’s purposes—to build and maintain temples and meetinghouses, to sustain missionary work, to educate Church members, and to carry on the work of the Lord throughout the world.” I read at Newsweek $100 billion of this tithing money just sits in funds, not helping anyone anywhere. With all the suffering in the world, this church could easily give $1 million a day every day for the next 200 years, to ease people’s suffering, and still have millions of dollars left over to maintain their buildings, etc. After all, Jesus said to sell all you have, and distribute to the poor - not stockpile it.
