South-End Diner

Came here about two weeks ago.....the food is top notch, the type you would call comfort food. Great prices and reasonable portions...enough to take some away with you. Only downfall for me was the male cooking the food being on the phone while preparing our meals. Not very professional! However loved the food, I can’t degrade the quality of the food for a small glitch. The server was awesome she had a phenomenal attitude and provided a great vibe for the restaurant. She is all smiles!!!! Will be back!

Absolutely wonderful place!

I've been looking around Oshawa for a proper diner, something you see in TV, like Luke's from Gilmore Girls and the like. I was looking for good food, good service, atmosphere. They have it here.

Now, it's not much to look at, but I'm sure as business booms it'll get tidied up a bit. It's very clean, which is great, just a little bit of clutter piled in a corner it seemed.

Of course, the FOOD is what you're there for. I just tried the burger and fries, simple. A simple test will always tell you the overall quality. If you can't get a simple burger and fries right, how can I expect anything else to be good?

Well this place does MORE than get it right. The portions were huge, I mean, HUGE. And the flavor the meat packed, you KNOW it was freshly made, not just some frozen patty.

And if you're eyeing up something a little more fancy, they have dishes like souvlaki and gyros, which he makes fresh in house as well.

Overall, it was one of the BEST diner experiences I've had in years. I'm excited to make this place my new "oh, lets go there for dinner" one stop shop diner!

We have lived in Oshawa our entire lives. We owned and ran Louie and May's Family Restaurant, served and ate breakfast in Oshawa for years. We tried this random restaurant just today for breakfast and man was I impressed!! Freshly made, hot food, fresh fruit and at a great price! Great new owners..very very friendly husband and wife team!! Best breakfast I have had in a long time! 2 thumbs up!!!!

Had the Curry Chicken, it was very good.

Had a hot hamburger delicious and home made. Had the hone made onion rings, awesome!

Home made fries and home made gravy as well!

But I have only visited 3 x so far this week!

Liked the previous diner but I really like the new South-End Diner. Very nice couple that owns it. Food is reasonably priced and very good. Good size portions too. Their home made burger is A1. Even the presentation of their take out is impressive. They are here to stay.
