Youth Employment Readiness Program

The Yerp program was a very valuable experience. The program is led by people who are incredibly supportive, caring and helpful. The workshops, assignments and activities were extremely informative and offered so many tools and skills to complete an effective job search. I would highly recommend this program to anyone who is in the job market.

This program is run by staff who truly care about the participants and are always willing to lend a helping hand. They offer the kind of support and encouragement that one needs when searching for a job. The workshops are informative, and the assignments help you learn a lot about yourself. If you need help with job search or figuring out next steps in your career, I would highly recommend joining the program!

I originally thought this was too good an opportunity to be true, but in the midst of COVID job market desperation I went for the interview anyway and I am so glad I did! Deb, Nicole, & the others are a great group and they all genuinely want you to succeed. I got my first job in the digital arts industry thanks to them and it's helping to kickstart my career; highly recommend if you need the extra support in the current job market!

YERP is a great program that provides a unique opportunity to get paid, while learning more about yourself professionally. The best part of the program is that it gives you the time, the tools, and the support to find the best career path for yourself. The program materials are very helpful and are taught by knowledgeable and helpful instructors. The program offers individual learning, interactive group work, resume help, and interview skills. This program gave me the confidence to apply to jobs outside of my comfort zone, and gain new skills and on-the-job experience. I highly recommend this program to anyone looking to grow as a young professional and narrow down their chosen career path.

You get payed to learn skills that are beneficial to yourself! Being in a group setting you’re able to learn from your peers as well as alongside them giving you the ability to start your networking/ learning how to network/market yourself best, right there in the classroom, before trying it, outside of the program! Lastly no matter what, you will learn, something! Whether if that’s about yourself, others, the different types of employers and employees, etc. But it is absolutely guaranteed that you will learn even more than when you first started the YERP Program. Which allows you to make the best choice for yourself and future employment!
