Really good location in Oshawa, new or newly renovated and it really shows.
Underground parking for your car is a huge plus and the free breakfast is good as well. Staff are friendly and helpful and they are able to help with most issues quickly.
While we did need to move rooms (because we extended our stay a day before our visit) they were very accommodating with our request.
The hotel is fine. I only had 2 issues while I stayed here. Internet download speed is capped at 610kb per second (your cellphone is at least double this speed) 2nd. I reported this to daytime rep Susan and she in her infinite wisdom suggested I pick up the phone and call the issue in. Yup. It would be fixed right away.. Sure but here's the deal. I'm reporting the issue to a Holiday Inn front desk staff member. ITS YOUR JOB to do these tasks. But nope 3 times she wanted me to do it for here.. I've done MY job and reported it to staff. Now its YOUR JOB to fix it. Isn't that what she is getting paid for??
I stayed here recently while my spouse had surgery at Lakeridge Health Care. When we called to make our reservation, thinking we were speaking directly with the front desk, we were assured we could cancel if my spouse was discharged a day early. As it turns out, we were not speaking with the staff there but rather had been bumped to a central booking site. We did not know that we were locking ourselves into 4 nights, paid in full. Also, we were not offered a preferred rate for Lakeridge Health patients despite mentioning our situation to the reservation clerk. But thanks to Susan at the desk I was able to straighten this out. My spouse was indeed discharged a day early and we were offered a refund and rate adjustment. I enjoyed my stay here very much despite having to spend most of my time up at the hospital. Everyone was pleasant and helpful. Thanks!
Clean and tidy. Exactly what you'd expect from a Holiday Inn. Told that you have to park underground if your vehicle is under 6ft tall is odd. Parking is $8 regardless and covered parking might be preferred for some. Right downtown, so you should be able to walk to any amenities you'd like.
The front desk staff were very polite. Parking is a bit of a challenge if you have a large vehicle and park in the outside lot. A lot of backing up and moving forward to cautiously escape. Underground parking is great when you figure out how to get to it. Room was very clean and cleaning staff were polite in the morning. Rooms were very soundproof.
