Muppets Children's Centre Pickering

My kids have been going to Muppets for over 2 years. My son and then my daughter. The staff is lovely!!! They treat the children with respect and care, kindness and patience (more patience than sometimes I have). The staff actually play with kids during outdoor time wether it is running and playing soccer or pulling them in little sleighs during winter. The daycare is a bungalow with a nice big front yard and a huge shaded backyard. The older kids (preschoolers) play in the front on a climber and have access to a variety of toys ex tricycles, wagon, balls, etc. The younger kids also have access to their age appropriate toys ( little sit in cars, play houses etc) inside there are all the stations sensory, motor, dress up etc. They are kept busy doing arts and crafts, sing song time, they even have once a month special music class (obviously not now due to COVID) they are taught to be independent wearing shoes, jackets, washing hands, as well as manners etc. The food is great, my kids who were super picky now eat a variety of foods as it is brought in by a catering company Chinese style fried rice, Greek souvlaki etc they opened his palate to a variety of foods. Instead of just Mac and cheese that he wanted to eat. My son had speech delay and the teachers worked extra hard with him and were so proud of him when he started speaking. They take pride in caring for all the children. I also wanted to add that they had a kid with special needs sometime back. They worked so hard with him and always with a smile. He improved so much in the short time. As a parent I notice not just how they treat my kids but also everyone in the class. The teachers are amazing!!!
At daycare they have learnt so many things that I know I cannot ever provide at home, friendship, peer learning, social interaction with other kids.
I also wanted to add that with COVID I have felt so safe with my kids being at Muppets. They do temp checks at the door, questionnaire, the classes are small and not allowed to mix with other classes to keep the cohorts and bubble small.
As every parent I'm sure, finding the right daycare is a scary experience, but I am so happy with Muppets and I couldn't ask for a better place than Muppets for my kids.

I had 2 of my children attended Muppets Pickering location and 1 attended Whitby location, we are very pleased with the service and quality of care. The food is very healthy and fresh cooked daily. Staff are very friendly and open to talk to.

I have had my children at Muppets Children Centre in Pickering for the last 7 years. I started, my now 8 year ,old when she was 13 months. After I went back to work, I started her at Valley Farm Daycare, and it was awful. My friend had her daughter at Muppets, so I decided to try it. And 8 years later, they are like part of my family. The have a great location, bungalow style house with a great outdoor space. A huge front yard with a playground, and a huge back yard. The staff is wonderful. Many of them have worked there for many years. They play with the kids, do different activities with them, bake with the school age kids. They will provide you a report card on how they assess the kids. The food is fantastic also, they have a catering company bring in lunch everyday - no hot dogs and chicken fingers here - they serve lots of different types of food from different pasta's, to souvlaki and curry, to vegetarian meals, they really have a good mix of everything. It is a great daycare, probably the best in Pickering. Now, both my kids are in school, but they go to Muppets on PA days and school holidays.

We have had both our kids attend this daycare and the staff are absolutely amazing with all the children. We highly recommend this daycare.
