I haven't been here for almost 5 years. Today is like summer s back. Friends and I enjoyed it so much. Top notch condition even in November. No complaints when you can golf in November. Recommended for all levels of players
I like it there. Course is in excellent condition. Staff is friendly. Only thing I find is that I used to play for approx $75 on a weekend. Now it's over $100. It got real pricey to play.
Watson's Glen has been one of my favourite golf courses since they opened. It offers some challenges for every level of golfer.
The course conditions are usually excellent, with fast greens that roll true. The fairways, while well groomed, tend to remain soggy for a while though, when it rains.
I've actually accomplished some of my best golf feats on this course - two eagles in one round (#7 and #18), and a hole in one on #3 (in a tournament that I co-hosted)!
The staff are always friendly and accommodating, from the pro shop to the beverage cart staff to the halfway house to the people behind the scenes.
This is a course made for people who enjoy golf. Period. There's no fancy clubhouse or banquet facilities, just a great golf course!
I think I've played this course a good 30+ times to the present date. Wide, soft fairways, long fescue, open tree-less holes make it very score-able. Once you have played the course and figure out where to put the ball, where to be aggressive and where to be conservative the course becomes a lot shorter and manageable.
Hole 18 is an all time finishing hole, when you do manage to pipe one between the forests on either side of the first fairway: the debate of whether or not to go for the green is still very much in your head.
I have made birdies there, and have also made several snowmen or more.
I have considered this my "home course" for the last 5 years and will continue to do so.
Be prepared to fix a few ball marks on every green - the bane of public golf.
