My kid went here for 3 years and, not to brag, but he’s probably the best human in the world so the Mill gets at least partial credit.

Our sons have been at Brooklin Mill Montesorri School (BMMS) since September 2016 and we have had a wonderful experience. The teachers are one-of-a-kind - highly skilled, professional and nurturing.

We shared a 5 star google review a few years back, but felt the need to give a public shout-out and reiterate our appreciation to the school administrators and teachers for all they are doing in the midst of this global pandemic.

BMMS has spent countless hours preparing to reopen the school adhering to public health standards, while going above and beyond to ensure the utmost safety for school families and the community. In August, the school shared a thorough 14 page document outlining all of the health and safety protocols and screeners to help families prepare to return. Over the past two weeks, the school has reassured us with timely and transparent communications. We are witnessing teachers supporting children in-class and virtually, sending materials home, fielding questions at all hours of the evening - while continuing to smile and stay positive! We continue to be impressed by their ability to adapt, flex and respond in creative ways in these constantly changing times.

To all BMMS staff - a very sincere thank you for all you are doing to keep our kids as safe as possible, while fostering a nurturing environment where they are challenged academically and socially. We are so grateful for all you are doing!

    Sincerely,
    The Taylors

There are at least 4 or 5 Montessori schools closer to our home than Brooklin Mill MS however we have made a point to keep our son in this school since he was an infant (1 years old) and he is now 5. They have an amazing staff that really connect with kids, when we are away on vacations or breaks and it's time to go back he is always asking to see Ms Perry, Ms Summer, Mme Grieve, Ms Pushman, Ms Lilly, the list goes on - not to mention how excited he is to see the kids he has literally grown up with.

Brooklin Mill administration has always been quick to answer any questions, willing to work with parents over any concerns, and over the early months of the Covid crisis scrambled to put together programming for the kids that was vastly more engaging and helpful than what many of our public school friends had. Over the last 4+ years we have experienced almost everything they have to offer in terms of before and after school care, remote learning, infant care, bilingual classes, dance classes, skating classes, and have nothing but positive things to say about them.

If you have decided that Montessori education is what you would like for your child then Brooklin Mill MS is an excellent choice. The old saying of it takes a village has never stopped being true and we are happy that our village included Brooklin Mills.

This Montessori school is beautiful and at first I was so happy with the care and learning my child was receiving. Unfortunately as my child moved up in the Montessori program I found the teachers to be less than professional. They were not on time in the morning when I’m paying a lot of money for my child to attend, and this happened many times which in turn made me late for work. One of the teachers was being extremely harsh with my two-year daughter for crying in the morning because she wanted mommy as is NORMAL for such young children. I waited outside the door to see how my daughter would settle and she didn’t bother to comfort my child in fact told her that she wouldn’t be able to colour “with that attitude” because a little child crying in the morning because they have separation anxiety is having attitude? She then proceeded to make a call on her cell phone and left my daughter standing there crying, offered no support. I was so furious. On top of that I found some of the new teachers she had to be less than friendly. When I asked this new teacher about the folders which are supposed to be updated regularly she told me that they’ll update when they have something to put in there, even after a month had already passed. If I’m paying this much money for childcare and education then it better be quality care with people who are ALL professional and know how to care for small children and show a respectful attitude towards parents. A few of them are, but some are not. So, that was my experience and I pulled my child out and she is in a much better place and much happier and the her new teachers are amazing.

Great school, great teachers, you do see the difference in teaching and how children develop.
