Durham School of Ballet and Contemporary dance

We have been with this studio since my daughter was 2 years old (nearly 6 years) because I am so impressed with the vision, innovation, training, guidance, choreography, and teaching of the artistic team at the DSBCD. The director and staff go above and beyond to make students and families feel welcome, supported, included, and engaged in learning.

This year, the Summer Solstice Recital at the Oshawa Little Theatre was so moving and beautiful to watch. The costumes were gorgeous too! We are so proud and grateful to be part of this outstanding dance studio. I highly recommend the Durham School of Ballet and Contemporary Dance.

My daughter was in the competitive dance program this year and has made so much progress with her confidence, skills, and love of dance (especially acro, ballet, tap, jazz, and lyrical). At competitions, I was thrilled to see how much the older students showed leadership to the younger ones by giving advice and sharing stories. My daughter made some amazing dance friends too. My daughter is continuing her dance education this summer by taking part in the July classes and the August intensive. She looks forward to continuing the competitive program again in the fall. Thank you so much to Madeleine, Mrs. Twyman, Cristina, Emma, AJ, Jasmin and the rest of the team for fostering my daughter's love of dance!

DSBCD is indeed the perfect fit. I was worried that we would not find the right studio when we moved to Durham region. We visited quite a few studios and this one was it. The teachers are not only technically sound, but they also encourage dancers to do their best while staying true to who they are. My daughter has gained confidence, wonderful technique training but most importantly a good friend group and caring adults who look after the well-being of the dancers inside and out.

This is an amazing studio. Great community, lots of fun. I want to come here every day. The teachers are amazing!! Lots of technique!
