Sakura Ichiban Express

If you're in the Mall and want freshly prepared "sushi", this works. Wish they'd offer a brown rice alternative.

It good for a fast food place and a healthy option.

I enjoy their food. It's food court fast food. So keep that in mind. Takes very little time to make. Lot's of options. I've tried their noodles at various locations across Canada. Usually it's pretty much the same in every location you go, which, for this place, is a good thing: you can count on the dish that you like to taste the same from location to location. It's a good portion. Densely packed in a takeout container. If you like it saucy it usually is pretty good but I like to add sauce and they have ample on the side, also crushed peanuts for those that like a nutty texture. Anyway I'm rambling, enjoy!

The food is pretty good and you get to see it cooked. The quality ranges from good to OK depending on the veggies they use. They used to have great prices, but now they're just a fast food take out, with smaller portions for higher prices and barely any Japanese or Asian character left to it with smaller selection of options that other places of a similar style.

Did not expect the best sushi to come from a mall's food court!

Don't let the fact that Sakura Ichiban Express is located in the Burlington Mall to throw you off. This is a great lunch spot. The sushi is so fresh and delicious, and about the same price for what you get in a grocery store. A Japanese couple own and run this location. I tried it for the first time last weekend just out of curiosity. Met the wife and was told her husband has 20 years of experience as a sushi chef. I think it shows. Can't wait for another round. Such great cuts of fish.
