Chestnut

This place is a little gem! Their coffee is great. I have tried the chocolate cake, almond-apricot flour-less cake and carrot cake. All of them are worth the visit and then some. An interesting twist with this cute little place is the menu addition Wednesday Thursday and Friday. They offer a traditional Sri Lankan fare of rice and chicken curry which is accompanied by curried pineapple (sometimes it is mango they tell me), potatoes, and a fresh tomato cucumber salad. You can get this for take out (as I watched someone do). Angela and her sister are lovely. They are trying and it shows. I will be back real soon!

A great latte - chocolate cake is wonderful and not too sweet. Enjoyed the carrot cake - very moist. Chicken curry very good - generous portion served with rice and mango, onion, tomato and red pepper salad. Everything is tasty and fresh - great people and Angela is very sweet and helpful. Hope they get ‘discovered’!

Popped into Chestnut for a latte - which was a good size and delicious (not sure why a previous reviewer was disappointed about the size of their latte). The place itself is tiny but had gentle music on that helped create a very peaceful, relaxed atmosphere (so don't go there rushed) and there were about 10 chairs. Very friendly and caring service. I added a piece of chocolate cake, excellent BTW and decided I will be back the next time I'm in Bronte harbour. I wish them well.

Very cute small coffee shop. Run by two sisters, one of which is an amazing cook!
Average prices, friendly staff that will chat with you and discuss various topics, delicious coffee and pastries! Their carrot cake is amazing!
Definitely worth popping by!
