Tried to put on our one year old H300 gas pool heater this season, but it did not work, rather gave an error code "IF". Tried to fix it per user manual instructions, but did't work. Called Hayward Canada; customer service rep Brain was a little rude telling me it seems a maintenance issue for which we may need to pay and also if any parts are needed we will be charged. This was a surprise as heater is still under warranty. He asked me to send proof of purchase, serial number etc. via email for his review. As i was not finding serial number on the equipment, i called back; this time customer services rep was quite helpful. He informed that my heater is registered with Hayward already and i just need to send proof of purchase again on email, and than someone will contact me for repair. I send invoice over the email. This morning 8 am i received a phone call from a tech informing he is already outside my house to see the heater. Although, he came uninformed, but he was an excellent technician and fixed it in a minute saying code was due to air bubble in the gas pipe. Overall service i received was quick and good, but Hayward needs to review its processes to make it even better - that's why i am giving 4 STARS.
Customer support and service is second to none. My sand filter sits outside at the side of the house and finally after 10 years it was st the point I couldnt see anything on top anymore due to weather and the sun. I called up service and the sent me a new decal at no charge. Much appreciated. I should have called the year before when I needed it.
Customer Support is tremendous. I purchased a very new product shortly after launch in 2016 and there have been a few hiccups along the way. The retailer where I purchased the equipment would not stand behind what they sold me, but Hayward did 100%. They were very helpful in getting me back up an running. The customer service agent I spoke with at Hayward knew the product very well and took the time to understand my issue and to help to find a solution. I would not hesitate to purchase or recommend Hayward products based on their customer service alone. And kudos to Hayward Canada for keeping their service agents in Canada!
