We needed an estate lawyer that could handle a difficult estate. There was no will, and none of the beneficiaries wanted to be Estate Trustee. There was also disagreement about who the lawyer should be. Monique Charlebois was recommended since she had worked for the Government of Ontario handling Public Trustee cases and knew the difficulties of working without a will. We contacted her, and she was willing to become the Estate Trustee. However, without unanimous agreement we ultimately had to become Estate Trustees ourselves. Monique then assisted us along the difficult road of obtaining the Certificate of Estate Trustee Without a Will, and from then on guided us through the many steps required to settle the estate. Monique used her list of contacts to get the assets liquidated and the house prepared for sale. She provided legal and emotional support that was extremely helpful, and much appreciated. When a bump in the road came along, she got us moving again. At times, there were slight misunderstandings, but she cleared them up quickly when we asked further questions or made suggestions.
