Jason did a fantastic job! The bathroom looks so much better now!
Thanks Bathfitter!
We both have to sing our praises with both the workmanship and the installer that installed our beautiful shower surround. Jason was efficient and the most hard working contractor we had encountered in our 50 years of being in our home. He was very personable and also a perfectionist. We were so happy to have had the chance to see quality work with a smile. I checked on a neighbour who had a fall and was telling her all about Jason and his work and she was so interested that she decided to have a walk in shower put in her home and needed to talk to Jason.
His praises will be shared with family and friends and word of mouth is the best advertisement for any company.
Well done Jason and Bathfitters!!!
Trevor did an excellent job installing our new bath tub. He was very professional and skillful performing his work. The product is also of high quality and very appealing!
I had my tub replaced with a walk in shower. The walls are gorgeous and so easy to clean. The price was reasonable and the results were fantastic. Installer was knowledgeable, efficient and pleasant.
I highly recommend Bathfitter!
We had our tub and wall surround and ceiling dome installed in 2006. For us it was a quick one-day fix to cover a green tub and wall tile. It was so much less expensive than the quotes we were given by bathroom renovators who remove and reinstall new tubs, etc. It looked great and the walls and dome still do. Unfortunately, the grout that they put at the seam top of the walls where it joins the dome yellow and this showed up in the first couple years. No problem there, simply paint it or apply some other product to make it white again. Not so for the tub which shows a yellowish tinge and has lost its shine. A different material I guess than the walls and dome because no problems there. They are still shiny and white. I had Bath Fitter over recently to examine the tub only to have them inform me that there is nothing on the warranty that covers this. I have always used products approved from their recommended products list so can't be that. They are suggesting that it could be our water. Oddly there is nothing in our sinks or toilets that even show a sign of yellowing. We have been in this house over 20 yrs and have no rust or other issues with our water that would cause this to happen. Our conclusion: simply typical of acrylic to lose its shine with use. If you want your Bath Fitter tub to stay nice and shiny, I suggest you don't bathe. Just shower. The lifetime warranty is misleading and I think that people should be told what to expect. It is not a lifetime solution. It's only temporary unless they come up with a different product. Our bathroom still looks OK. I just can't stand looking at the yellowish tub.
Now we need to decide which way to go,
1. pay to have Bath Fitter replace the existing tub insert or go for the overall bathtub replacement
2. buy the $20. cleaning product package that they offered to sell us to try to restore the colour
3. simply remove the tub and have a shower stall only
4. hire a renovator to replace the entire assembly.
By the way, Bath Fitter also charge to send someone out to assess the situation if you call them regarding warranty issues. In our case they agreed to waive the $135 + HST fee.
I'm still giving them a 3-star but only wish we had known that the tubs will not keep their original look. Photos below show the difference in coloring between tub surround (pic 2) and tub (pic 1) in our bathroom.
Bathfitter responded to my review and delivered 2 products, free of charge, for me to use on the tub to try to restore its looks. I used both products but unfortunately I notice only a slight difference.
