Location of the former Niagara falls museum (was open since mid-1800s) belonging to the Sherman family who traveled the world for curiosities, among which the famous Egyptian mummy. Before that, a corset factory. The old floors show this...There is a small memorabilia inside with someone knowledgeable of the history there to explain.
As for the birds, our kids loved it. Yes, a bit expensive, like everything else in Niagara falls, but our kids are fans of exotic birds so this was their highlight. They got to feed and hold the birds (only one species as the others are off limits). Beautiful stuffed toy animals in the store shop.
I'd only recommend it if your kids are into birds. Otherwise, you would probably see your share of birds at the Toronto zoo or other for a similar admission price.
Staff are incredible and super knowledgeable! On top of that they are very nice and are happy to answer any questions you can come up with. I am NOT a fan of zoos or really anything of that ilk, but Bird Kingdom did not in any way, shape, or form feel like it was even remotely close to something like that. 10/10 when I am able to get back to the falls in Canada I will be visiting Bird Kingdom once again!
Whilst not really interested in birds, this place was still a great place to visit showing tidbits of the past trough the small museum they run. The main aviary was very impressive with its massive size and variety of birds. The other floors were cool as well. The donated reptiles was definitely a highlight for me. I would highly recommend visiting if you are interested in birds!
I’d highly recommend doing this with children. It’s a beautiful display or birds and plant life - the atrium area was breathtaking and interacting with birds on an extremely close level was a great experience.
I am deaf to high pitch sounds, so found it pleasantly quiet .. but apparently it is very loud at times. Just a word of warning to those with sensitive ears
My favourite place to visit in Niagara! The Bird kingdom is great for all ages. They are wheel chair accessible and you can bring your strollers in too. You can really take your time watching and finding all the different birds they have. The price is amazing for the experience and their are also coupons available. Its fun for the whole family.
