I LOVE their Long Johns... when you can get them fresh. I purchased some today from their Flea Market outlet booth and they were so stale the cream filling had actually turned. I have never had that happen before. I am guessing they are day-olds that are brought to the Flea Market outlet? There is no way they had been made fresh that day. (I eat several of these throughout the week and know when they are fresh made!) I will buy again but never on a Sunday or at the Flea Market outlet.

Wow! We just discovered your Homestead Donut shop in Port Dalhousie, on Lakeport Rd. I was overwhelmed by nostalgia: donuts made like back in 1960s: fresh and tasty! I worked in a Mister Donut shop in Scarborough, as a student, some 57 years ago, before the first Tim Hortons Donut shop. Tim Horton's just copied their menu, but kept the coffee and donuts fresher. Each donut shop had bakers come in at night, so all product was fresh on the shelves. Tim Horton's, after the orginal owner sold, switched to American-style factory pre-bake and cheaper ingredients. All their re-heated pastry products now taste worse than day-old leftovers. They don't deserve continued Canadian loyalty. I haven't tasted a real fresh donut in at least 20 years: until today. Today's generation have little experience with what fresh donuts should taste like.
Congratulations - you are now a must-visit destination. Put yourself on all tourist maps and in local guidebooks!
Homestead has fantastic, old-style donuts. They are huge, very soft, and baked fresh, and you can tell by the taste. I like seeing all the choices they have on display, and each donut I have tried has been great. Being nearly the same price as a Tim Horton's donut, the value for your dollar here goes very far. I'm not sure what happened to the deli at this location, but I hope it returns soon as it was a great addition. Regardless, Homestead has donuts the way they should be, which is great coming from a local, Niagara business.
