Amazing experience. I fell in love with all the animals. Great escape from city life.
It was so amazing that we stayed an extra day. The Twiglet is an adorable tiny house that overlooks a little pond and the pigs come right up to the door! Gretel is just the sweetest little girl, she followed me all around! Don't forget to bring apples and carrots for all the critters, they'll love you for it! I spent a lot of time feeding Monty, the cutest goat you'll ever meet. Munchie the celebrity donkey is a bit more shy than the other donkeys but so sweet. Awwgee the dog is such a sweetheart too. They're all adorable critters but those are just my favourites. Just writing this is making me miss them. We will definitely be back!! Peach and Mush are also great hosts, so friendly and helpful. Everyone there is just so amazing - if you love animals and nature, don't miss out on the best getaway you'll ever take. Peach - thank you again for accommodating us so well. You're the best! See you next year :)
Petra and Mush were wonderfully attentive hosts. The Hoblet was a perfect space to enjoy Thanksgiving this year with family. The cabin was spacious, clean and extremely inviting. The animals were the icing on the cake, especially the pigs (shhh.... done tell the rest of the gang that Gretel was our Favorite). We are so excited to visit again. Thanks again for a perfect weekend!
And now for something truly unique...Nature's Energy Centre provided my teenage son and I with a vacation we won't soon forget. From the moment we entered the sanctuary, we felt like we were transported into a different world...almost as though we'd walked through the wardrobe into Narnia or Tolkein's magical world. Mush and Petra gave us a warm welcome, and the dogs and pot-bellied pigs came to greet us. All of the donkeys, dogs, goats and pigs have been rescued by Mush and Petra and they have lovingly built an oasis for their menagerie to live out their years. We stayed in one of two tiny houses within the sanctuary, The Hoblet, an enchanting and gentle space built with a live roof and surrounded by greenery. Although we spent time visiting Lake Erie & Port Colborne, and hiking the escarpment, the real draw was the sanctuary, where we spent time feeding the donkeys and pigs, walking the goat, Monty, and playing with the dogs. One of the pigs, Gretel, fell in love with my son, and would patiently wait for him outside The Hoblet each morning in anticipation of a good brushing. Petra and Mush treat their furry family with love and respect, and that energy permeates their whole space. My son has already made me promise we will return soon:)
What a wonderful, peaceful escape from reality.
Hosts are charming, 4 legged friends were a pleasure, accommodations absolutely a treasure!
